LOGOS
LOGOS
In the beginning was the Word,...
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Formed out of sand
By The Maker's hand
Dust breathed to life
A world without strife
Then came the test
Where did our trust rest?
In Maker’s plan?
Or design of man?
Could not resist
The tempter’s persist
Sad and dismayed
The Maker turned away
Expelled from Grace
The Human Race
No sign or trace
Of our former place
How can this stain
Be erased?
Can we remain?
Outside of Grace?
And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us
Through lowly birth
The Word came to earth
A world insane
By death pain and strain
Strengthened the weak
Exalted the meek
Flesh and divine
Perfect intertwine
More than a man
For The Maker's plan
To realign
man with the Divine
The Nazarene
From Galilee
Who with His hand
He calmed the sea
And with His touch
The blind could see
But with The Word
were Greater Things to be
He was in the world, (and the light shineth in darkness;)
and the world was made by him,
and the world (and the darkness)
knew him not. (comprehended it not.)
Some saw an earthly king
With a worldly reign to bring
Some saw blasphemy
To their monopoly
So few saw the true light
And those gasped at his plight
As He hung from a tree
Some saw an earthly king
With a worldly reign to bring
Some saw blasphemy
To their monopoly
So few saw the true light
And those gasped at his plight
As He hung from a tree
The son of man
Hung from a tree
How could this be?
How could this be?
You were the one
To set us free
How can you be?
Dying on a tree?
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
It came to pass
He breathed his last
His mother wept
In death he slept
Sealed in the tomb
They all assumed
It was done
For Mary’s son
But at the dawn
Of the third day
The stone was gone
Was rolled away!!!
Reviled and scorned
To be reborn
His blood He bled
In our stead
To then restore
Our place before
Before our Maker
Our Creator
Whom we can call Father
Forever
Amen
